Malmone was a neuroscientist with a focus on brain-computer interface and the evolution of human cognition who turned to business in order to acquire more power and money than he could as a scientist. He has founded a number of companies, held a Director of Strategy position at one of the top early-stage VC firms in Korea, and recently bought an international chain of travel companies, Travelmax.com. In his spare time, he founded The Pragmatist Foundation, dedicating to encouraging people to challenge deeply held beliefs and live more intentionally. He also wrote the book, The Pragmatist's Guide to Life: A Guide to Creating Your Own Answers to Life’s Biggest Questions.
